Cookie Policy
This page explains what is stored in your browser on aryasarge.com and how you can control it.
1. What Are Cookies and Local Storage?
A cookie is a small text file a website saves in your browser and sends back to the server with every request. Local storage stays in your browser only and is never sent to a server. This site relies mainly on local storage.
2. What This Site Uses
The following records are kept:
- aryas-theme (local storage, persistent, functional rather than strictly necessary) — remembers your light/dark theme preference. Never sent to a server.
- aryas_cookie_consent (local storage, persistent, strictly necessary) — stores your answer to the cookie notice; without it the notice would reappear on every visit. Never sent to a server.
- Analytics cookies (_ga and similar) — analytics is not currently enabled on this site and no analytics cookie is created. If it is enabled, it loads only after you give explicit consent.
3. Strictly Necessary Versus Optional
The consent record is strictly necessary; without it your preference cannot be remembered. The theme preference is functional and not required for the site to work. Analytics is entirely optional and does not load at all if you decline.
4. How to Withdraw Consent
Clearing your browser's site data also removes the consent record, so the notice reappears on your next visit and you can change your choice. Once consent is withdrawn, the analytics code no longer loads.
5. Browser Settings
Every modern browser offers a way to block or delete cookies and site data, in its privacy settings. If you block the strictly necessary records, your theme preference will not be remembered, but the site continues to work.
6. Changes
This policy is updated when the technologies used on the site change. The current version is always published on this page.
